Privacy Policy

Last updated June 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to all mobile applications published by Grapheme.

Privacy at a glance

  • We do not collect your personal data. Our apps do not collect, store on our servers, or transmit your personal information or content to us.
  • On-device processing. Our apps are designed to perform their core functions locally on your device.
  • No account required. You can use our apps without creating an account or providing personal details, unless a particular feature expressly requires it.
  • No third-party tracking. Our apps do not include third-party advertising or analytics and tracking SDKs.
  • We never sell your data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
  • You stay in control. Content you create is saved to your own device storage and remains under your control.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how Grapheme ("Grapheme", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile applications we publish (each, an "App", and collectively, "our Apps"). It applies to all of our Apps, unless a particular App provides its own supplementary privacy notice, in which case that notice applies in addition to this Policy.

Our Apps are built to be privacy-respecting by design. By downloading, installing, or using any of our Apps, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use our Apps.

2. Information we do not collect

We are committed to data minimisation. Except where expressly stated within a specific App, our Apps do not collect, store on our servers, or transmit to us:

  • your name, email address, phone number, or account credentials;
  • the photos, videos, documents, files, or other content you create, import, or process;
  • text, labels, or other information generated by features within the App;
  • your precise location, contacts, or device identifiers used for advertising;
  • behavioural profiles or analytics about how you use the App.

Our Apps do not contain third-party advertising SDKs or third-party tracking libraries.

3. Information processed on your device

To provide their features, our Apps may process the content you choose to open, capture, or create — such as images, documents, audio, or video — together with any settings you configure. This processing takes place locally on your device. Such content is not sent to us and is not stored on our servers.

Any underlying technologies used to power on-device features (for example, on-device machine-learning components) operate on your device. Files you save are written to your device’s local storage and remain under your control.

4. Permissions

Each App requests only the permissions reasonably necessary for the features it provides, so the exact permissions vary from App to App. You may grant or revoke permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking a permission may disable the related feature, but you can continue to use the rest of the App. Depending on the App, permissions may include access to photos and media (to open and save your files), the camera or microphone (where a feature requires capture), notifications, and network access (see Section 5).

5. Network use and third-party services

Many of our Apps function fully offline. Where an App uses the network, it is generally for limited, non-personal purposes — for example, to allow certain on-device modules provided through platform services (such as Google Play Services) to download or update. Where such third-party platform components are used, your use of those components is also subject to the relevant third party’s own terms and privacy policies, including the Google Privacy Policy where applicable.

We do not transmit your personal content to our own servers, and we do not operate servers that receive your content.

6. Data storage and retention

Content you create or edit is stored locally on your device. We do not retain copies, because we do not receive them. You decide how long files are kept, and you can delete them at any time using your device’s tools or by uninstalling the App.

7. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information or content with third parties for marketing purposes. Content leaves an App only through actions you explicitly take, such as using your device’s share function to send a file to another app of your choice, in which case the receiving service’s own privacy policy applies. We may disclose information only where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or an enforceable governmental request, or to protect our rights.

8. Children’s privacy

Our Apps are general-purpose tools and are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. As our Apps are designed not to collect personal data, no child-specific data is gathered.

9. Security

Because your content stays on your device, its security depends primarily on your device’s own protections, such as your screen lock, encryption, and operating-system safeguards. We recommend keeping your device updated and secured. No method of storage or processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but by keeping data on your device we minimise exposure.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data-protection laws such as the Australian Privacy Principles, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we generally do not collect or hold your personal data, we typically have no personal data to provide, correct, or erase; however, you are welcome to contact us with any request or question.

11. International users

Our Apps are operated from Australia. Because our Apps are designed to process content on your device, your content is not transferred to us across borders in the ordinary course of using the Apps.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features, new Apps, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date shown on this page. Your continued use of our Apps after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
